Daniel is a savant with a super-human ability for math.  He can calculate complex sums in his head faster than many of us can do on a calculator.  Despite this, his inability to think abstractly and communicate with others is impaired.  Daniel is the subject of the movie Brainman, has been featured on CNN, 60 Minutes and much more.  Now he shares his experience with us.  Read More.

Daniel Hawthorne has autism.  Without the ability to communicate and remaining non-verbal until almost 7 years old, Daniel was classified as mentally retarded.  Today he is totally independent with meaningful relationships and a good career!  Daniel has been kind enough to answer questions in our new section “On the Spectrum.”  Read More.

Jerry:  Jerry is a savant.  He is able to perform extremely difficult mathematical calculations in his head.  He is world renowned for his books and is the subject of the Movie "Mozart and the Whale" based on the brilliant book about an Asperger couple.  Despite his achievements, Jerry still faces many of the challenges of autism.  Read More.
